The retainer is a removable appliance that must be worn according to the instructions provided in order to be effective.

Wearing the retainer means: FULL TIME (24 hours/day, remove to eat and brush) NIGHT TIME (Sleeping)

Please remove retainers while eating, brushing and flossing. Clean your retainer by brushing with a toothbrush every time you brush your teeth. Brush all the sides of the retainer. Do not use hot water as it may distort the acrylic. Should the retainer have excessive build up on it, you can soak it in a diluted vinegar solution for 20 minutes and brush it afterwards.

Always bring your retainer with you to each appointment so that we are able to make sure it is fitting correctly. If you lose or break the retainer, call the office as soon as possible so that we are able to make you a new one.

Always place your retainer into the case provided when not in use. Never wrap the retainer in a paper napkin or tissue and lay it on a table- it will end up in the garbage!

Additional Charges will apply for lost or broken retainers due to neglect.
