Dr. Wang is the founder of PacificWest Dental Group. He completed his dental degree in 1989 and interned at a children’s hospital in Toronto after graduation. He then switched to full-time work at I.W.K. Children’s Hospital in Halifax, providing orthodontic care to children in need. Dr. Wang was accepted into the orthodontic specialty at the University of Manitoba in 1991. After three years of intensive training, he became a certified specialist in 1994 and also earned a master’s degree in craniofacial biology. His clinical research has been published in journals of oral surgery, oral medicine, and oral pathology. After graduation, Dr. Wang’s passion for teaching remained unabated. In addition to actively carrying out lingual and labial tooth correction in his own private clinic, he has also been a clinical professor at UBC’s School of Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialty College for over 20 years without interruption. Dr. Wang’s work philosophy is to work with patients to develop a plan that meets their needs for orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Lee was born in Taiwan and immigrated with his family to Vancouver at the age of 16. In 2011, he completed a four-year dental training program UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry and then worked as a general resident at Montefiore Hospital in New York. In 2012, Dr. Lee was admitted to UBC’s Orthodontic Specialty Program and completed three years of rigorous specialist training, earning a diploma in orthodontics and a master’s degree in craniofacial biology. In 2015, Dr. Lee passed the Royal College of Dentistry of Canada’s orthodontic specialist certification exam as well as the American Board of Orthodontics’ specialist certification exam. Despite his youthful appearance, Dr. Lee has over 10 years of clinical experience. He is committed to understanding the latest orthodontic technologies and providing effective, efficient, and comfortable orthodontic treatment for patients of all ages, whether they require traditional braces, lingual braces, or Invisalign treatment.

Dr. Liu graduated from Peking University and obtained a PhD in Orthodontics from Peking University in 2001. After graduation, she stayed at Peking University and worked for many years in teaching, research, and clinical treatment of patients. In 2004, she went to the United States to continue her studies. After completing her postdoctoral project at the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, she returned to China to continue her work. In 2018, she came to Vancouver and entered the Canadian Foreign Specialty Physician Training Program through a competitive exam. Only UBC and the University of Toronto offer this program in Canada, and there are only two spots available per year. In 2019, Dr. Liu completed the program, successfully obtaining the Diploma in Orthodontics from UBC and passing the Canadian Orthodontic Specialty Certification Examination. After graduation, Dr. Liu continued to work as a research and clinical professor at UBC’s Orthodontic Specialty School.

Dr. Yash is a Certified Specialist Orthodontist with an experience of over 14 years gained through specialist orthodontic practices in Mumbai, India and Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is multilingual and fluent in several languages, including Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, and Arabic.
He completed his dental program from India in 2006 with Honors, as a distinguished recipient of the Vice-Chancellor’s Certificate of Merit for Academic Excellence and subsequently earned his master’s degree in Orthodontics from Government Dental College as a Gold Medalist of the Goa University in 2010. Being an ardent advocate of ‘Learner for Life’ philosophy, Dr. Yash went on to pursue advanced training in Lingual Orthodontics, Micro Implant Anchorage and Surgical Orthodontics at the Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea in 2014. He then completed a mini-residency stint at the UConn Dental School, University of Connecticut, USA (2017) to further hone his skills for accelerated orthodontics and clear aligner therapy.
Dr. Yash moved to Canada with his family in 2022 and completed his orthodontic specialty recertification program at the University of British Columbia in 2024, by securing the single coveted seat offered to internationally trained Orthodontists in 2023. He is also a fellow of the prestigious Royal College of Dentists of Canada- an honor bestowed to the top dental specialists in their field.
Dr. Yash believes in “Practice Passion in Orthodontics” and specializes in treating children with preventive and interceptive orthodontics, and adults with contemporary and esthetic treatment modalities.
In his spare time, Dr. Yash enjoys talking; actually, mostly listening, to his wife, Aditi, an orthodontist herself; and their chatty 6-year-old daughter, Anahita. The trio live in Vancouver and love exploring all the wonderful places, sampling the plethora of cuisines and just soaking in the resplendent beauty that Beautiful British Columbia and Canada offer!

Dr. Lo-Lin Tsai
DDS, MSc, phD
Although he is registered as a general dentist in Canada, Dr. Lo-Lin Tsai is an experienced oromaxillofacial surgery specialist in Taiwan. Dr. Tsai graduated with a degree in Dental Surgery from the Chung-Shan Medical University in 2000.
After graduation, he spent 5 years of working as a full-time hospital oromaxillofacial surgery resident at the Taichung Veteran General Hospital. During this time, Dr. Tsai focused on the clinical skills of wisdom teeth extraction and oral cancer surgery, while also building a critical training in dental implantology.
Dr. Tsai entered the master program at the Chung-Shan Medical University in 2005. After 3 years of intensive training, he earned a Masters of Dental Science degree in 2008. And then he continuing the phD program at the Chung-Shan Medical University in 2008, earned a phD degree in 2011. After that, he was promoted to be an Asistant Professor, in charge of teaching works and clinical services in the oromaxillofacial surgery department of Chung-Shan Medical University Hospital. His clinical researches have been published in many international famous journals during these years.
As a certified specialist in Oromaxillofacial surgery and diplomat/ director of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in Taiwan, Dr. Tsai was invited very frequently to share his years of professional experience on difficult dental implantology at various lectures and professional presentations. In addition to daily clinical practicing in clinics, he also now serves as an Associate Professor in the Taipei Medical University School of Dentistry since 2016. In 2015, Dr. Tsai immigrated to Canada after he qualified the National Dental Examining Board of Canada.
Dr. Tsai’s primary focus is serving with you to provide the dental surgical treatment you need. Working with PacificWest Dental Group associates, he supports the team to achieve the best treatment outcome.
Dr. Tsai lives in Burnaby BC with his family. In his spare time, Dr. Tsai enjoys guitar playing, reading, movies and spending time in screenplay writing. He plans to be a movie director in the near future.

Oromaxillofacial Surgery
After obtaining a DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) or DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree, a dental specialist requires an additional two to seven years of specialty training at a Canadian accredited education program. This is where the dental specialists become highly trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating multiple, diverse, and complex dental conditions.
Each of the doctors in our practice have been specially trained in specific areas of dental care. We can provide dental treatment in Orthodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral surgery, and Dental Head Pain. In general, to become a Certified Dental Specialist requires 2 to 4 additional years of training after completion of dental school. The extensive training has been put to good use, with some members of our team having served our community for over 35 years.
